BLTA Lettuce Wraps
There is something about the flavor combination of a BLTA. I mean it has bacon… when I got diagnosed with Celiac, there wasn’t any good bread back then and lettuce wraps were the way to go and they are so healthy! These are so light and delicious.
These are easy to make ahead for lunches and you can use turkey bacon, or even meatless bacon, whatever you like best.. I usually use thick center cut bacon, which is slightly “leaner” than regular bacon but tastes just like the real thing. This can be #Whole30 compliant if you use a bacon that does not contain sugar.
BLTA Lettuce Wraps
8 slices of bacon, we use applewood smoked
1 heirloom tomato, sliced thin
4 whole romaine leaves
1 avocado (I am not a fan of mayo so I love the avocado for creaminess but my hubby likes mayo)
salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Spread each lettuce leaf with a the avocado or mayo.
Sprinkle with salt & pepper
Top with two strips of bacon, then a layer of sliced tomatoes, and two more slices of bacon (because you can never have enough bacon, am I right?).
Ready to feast!
